I forgot I'm a writer

Last month I left a digital agency after 13 years. I was a copywriter, among other things. Or, as it's sexy to say these days, content creator. After I left, I wanted to be a freelance illustrator. I always loved drawing and kept coming back to it. And make a money out of it? Well, that would be a dream come true.
So the days went by, and I alternated between drawing for myself and trying to put together a proper portfolio… when suddenly all sorts of stories ideas started popping in my head. Like popcorn. Pop pop pop. 🎈
Every day I have plenty of ideas for articles that, given the chance, I'd immediately put on a paper. Like this one I'm writing today.
And then it hits me.
I'm a writer!
I'm a writer and I love it! Through years of working at agency, I'd completely forgotten that. Being a copywriter often means breaking your own style and working on someone else's ideas with their specific tone of voice. And when you do it every day, every week, every month, for years... you just forget how much you used to enjoy free writing.
But it only took me a month of freedom and empty head and I'm starting to remember. And so I'm writing today's article about what it is like. Ask me again next time :) Right now I'm starting my new blog and trying to tear myself away from writing, haha. And I need to get a notepad (or recorder) for all those ideas that come to me at midnight when I'm just about to go to bed, so then I'll go to sleep at 3am and healthy-bedtime-routine goes bye bye.
Bye bye.
With love, Vi. ❤︎
