Why is the rabbit hole a metaphor for something negative?

Lewis Carroll probably wouldn’t want us to think that. I mean… Have you read his Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland?
Maybe the whole rabbit hole thing is because Alice end up lost and mad? But isn’t Wonderland better when we’re completely lost? That’s what they say... And the Cheshire Cat adds:
We’re all mad here.
So what is it? Is there something bad at the bottom of the rabbit hole? Or maybe along the way down? Is it the fall? Or is it more of a landing? Is madness really that bad?
You know, I think that there’s a reason for all those stories, books, and movies where one lost soul asks another: “Am I weird?” And the other replies, “Yes,” but loves them anyway.
That’s the exact moment when most of us feel truly seen, accepted for who we are, and that we’re not alone in this mad world.
It feels good.
“You're mad, bonkers, completely off your head. But i'll tell you a secret. All the best people are.
So. . . let’s stop saying that this hole is a bad thing. Feel free to follow the white rabbit. Sometimes it can even free your mind. And it really doesn’t matter how you ended up there or what the hole is actually about. Whatever it is, everything's gonna be ok. But remember...
I can only show you the door you re the one that has to walk through it :)
With love, M.
